Holders of a residence permit (for example after Z, X1, Q1, S1, or J1 entry) who need to extend it.
Where it is filed
The exit-entry administration of the public security bureau in the city of residence.

Documents the agent will ask for
- Passport, current residence permit, and temporary accommodation registration.
- Evidence that the original purpose continues, such as an employer letter, school letter, or family documents.
- The local exit-entry application form.
